I had met Allison once in person a couple years back. However, when she contacted me regarding a nutrition challenge, I had no idea of her current situation. Last March, she suffered from a series of strokes and as a result was put on a very high dose of steroids. March of 2016 and August 2016 she gained roughly 45 pounds. Now, can you imagine being 22 years young and going through four strokes? I can’t. I’ve been working with clients for two years now and have heard of many different setbacks they have had. But this one really touched me.

Allison started off doing one of my nutrition challenges. This particular challenge consisted of her texting me every single thing she ate throughout the day. She would also report her calories & exercise activity & weigh in once a week. It’s an intense challenge! The whole purpose of it is in hopes that when the challenge is over, my clients have healthy eating habits to carry on for years and years. My worst fear is that they will put in all the hard work and once we stop working together fall off the wagon. Trust me, Allison continued to work hard. Let’s take a look at her transformation.

It’s not about being perfect. It’s about effort. And when you bring that effort every single day, thats where transformation happens. That’s how change occurs.

I’ve heard of people giving up on fitness goals for all sorts of reasons. Most of them I tend to view more as excuses than reasons. I’ll admit I can be pretty tough on people because I really just want them to stop with excuses and succeed. With Allison though, I looked at her situation and couldn’t fathom what she was feeling. I can’t relate. She is the one client I have had, where if she did give up, I would not of completely blamed her because she went through something so traumatic physically & emotionally. However, she is a client I wanted to succeed so bad because she is a such hard worker and deserved that transformation.

Working with Allison was a treat for many reasons. I noticed right away she really wanted this. I would give her advice and she would apply it right away to her lifestyle. Working with her for several months, I never heard one complaint or negative comment. This girl just has one of the most calm & cool demeanors. It’s hilarious because I could tell all of this just by texting her! Allison succeeded for multiple reasons:

  • She took it one day at a time

  • She took every piece of advice I gave her and immediately applied it to her life

  • She did not feel sorry for herself

  • She focused on what was going right in her life vs. what was going wrong

Stressing and complaining will change nothing. Take action. Make a change. Never look back.

I really can not say enough positive things about Allison Couri. Thank you for inspiring ME. If any of Allison’s family & friends are reading this, you are blessed to have such a positive & inspiring person in your life.

For those reading this that want to make a healthy lifestyle change, don’t fear failure. Fear being in the exact same place next year as you are today. Use that to do something about it NOW.
