How are Ollie and Liv six months already?
I can’t believe it. It still blows my mind. This is definitely a golden period for Matthew and I. I’ll get random texts from him at work saying he misses the babies. When I leave (just for an hour) I’m calling Matthew to see how they are doing. Honestly, neither of us can get enough of them. They are at such a cute stage where you just want to be around them all the time. Uhg, the love. For any twin-mommas reading this. I have to say this period is where we are starting to notice having twins is getting easier! I remember wondering when that would happen… as I’m up every half hour of the night! It’s definitely getting better. They are really starting to notice one another now. We will put them in their bouncies and they love to look at each other and play. Sometimes for 20-30 minutes! Which means you can like go to the bathroom…or eat a meal…hahaha woohoo! You know all those basic human needs you use to take for granted? It’s the little things!

I’ve been loving my bulletproof coffee.
SO. MUCH. Matthew has joined in on drinking it in the mornings and it’s become a fun little thing we bond over. We wake up in the A.M. to our alarm clock (aka OLLIE!) I head to the nursery to get Mr. Oliver and Matthew makes a double batch of our morning joe. We sip our coffees and then about ten minutes later wake Olivia up. It’s become a nice morning tradition.

I’ve lost five more pounds
since starting bulletproof coffee which surprised me. I do not pay too much attention to my weight. I go more by how my clothes fit and how I feel…but it was a nice surprise nonetheless! I’ve also been really focusing on fewer carbs but upping my protein and that seems to help! For those that have been asking, YES, the bulletproof coffee is all that I have in the morning. I don’t eat until 11 or 12. Fasting until then is something that has always intrigued me and now is the perfect time to do it (and do it right) because I was finding myself waiting that long to eat anyways. When I eat my first meals/snacks of the day, it’s typically in the car. I have been taking the babies on car rides for their long nap because once they fall asleep, I’m able to park and get some work done my phone! I would be lying if I said I don’t hit up Starbucks or Dunkin’ for a little coffee action as well!

Confession:
I went from working out almost every day to just 2-3 times a week. Why? I can’t seem to pull myself away from the babies. Not because I do not have the choice… but because I simply do not want to. I could easily go when Matthew gets off work but it’s fun to hang with my little family… the four of us. I need to start forcing myself to go when they are down for the night. Ohhh goodness. I’m sharing this for accountability so I’ll report back next week with an update on that!

This This is a super random thought…
(hence the caption of this blog) but this week a family friend simply looked me in the eye and said: “You’re a good Mom, Rachel”. Such a simple affirmation that I needed to hear. You know when you are having a rough day and just feel like you can’t do anything right? That small, to the point, compliment made my whole day. It was a nice reminder that affirmation, in general, goes a long way. We all need affirmation. I don’t care who you are or what you do, kind words can make someone’s day a whole heck of a lot brighter. A challenge I gave myself – and now challenge YOU to do – is give a loved one in your life affirmation every single day. It’s easy to think nice things about someone but forget to actually tell them.
Build someone up. Put their insecurities to sleep. Remind them they’re worthy. Tell them they’re incredible. Be a light in a too often dim world.
Thanks for reading my rambles & updates. Have a Happy Thursday, lively folk!(:
Love the randomness! Thank you for building me up the other day! Your words really encouraged me to keep on going strong!
You seriously are a rockstar mom!🙌🏽
Hi! I’ve been lurking on your site/Instagram for a bit now. 🙂 I have a question – I have a 5 month old son and I’m really intrigued by bulletproof coffe. But is it breastfeeding safe do you think? Thanks! Katie.
