Hi friends!
Popping by on a Monday! Originally, I was going to post this as my Things You Ask Thursday for last week, but let’s just say life happens! It was somewhat of a hectic week. My little guy, Ollie, was running a fever for a few days prior so I finally took him in to see our Pediatrician and turns out the poor little man had a ear infection! I hate seeing him hurt but at the same time it was relieving to know what the problem was so we could take care of it ASAP! That’s why I have been a little MIA. I’ve been trying to give Oliver all the love and extra snuggles he needs while entertaining Olivia who is just getting goofier and goofier by the day! Oh my gosh, she is seriously the biggest goofball I can hardly handle it! Their little personalities are really starting to come out in their 9 months of life and lets just say I am soaking all of it in. It’s been such a fun new month with these sweet babes. Also, we were having some issues with my website so I have been focusing on getting little things fixed, back up and running! I am so not techy by the way. Thank goodness for my husband who is!
MAKEUP. Lets talk about it! I would just like to make a public service announcement that this is not something I am an expert at! My expertise lies in the health & wellness field (I would like to think)! However, you guys have requested this for awhile so I am going to deliver! I find it very flattering that you want to know what makeup/beauty regimen I do most days! However, I also find it comical because I feel like a hot mess majority of the time! When I’m going out in public anywhere my goal is to not look super tired. That’s it! I’m going to share a few of my absolute favorite makeup/beauty products with you guys! By the way, don’t judge these photos that I took in 2.5 seconds while my babies were sleeping! Non edited and simple! I have to say though I have found that I really love blogging because I can share real life, unedited photos and its perfectly okay! There isn’t the same kind of pressure like there is with Instagram. I’m not sure why, but blogging feels a lot more natural and fun for me. Okay random side thought over. Let’s talk makeup!
What exactly is in my little green makeup bag?
First things first, eyebrows are everything (at least in my opinion). I naturally have very thick bushy eyebrows from my Lebanese side of the family so homegirl over here plucks every few days! Fun Fact: I have never gotten my eyebrows waxed! I’m super weird when it comes to these caterpillars! I like them a particular way and I’m scared to let anyone else handle them #eyebrowobsessed #slightlyocd
Eyebrows:
Anastasia eyebrow powder: I do not use this powder to fill the entire brow just the beginning of each brow to give it more definition and shape. However, if you want to give your eyebrows a fuller look, by all means spread this powder throughout the entire brow area! It just depends what look you are going for. This container has lasted me for over a year and a half now…and I still have a lot left so it’s definitely worth the money, in my opinion! I purchased this at Ulta!
Eyebrow trimmers: I use these eyebrow trimmers (I think thats what they are called hahaha) about once a week. I like brushing the front of my eyebrows upwards and then trimming the top so they are all lined up and even! I like the look of it better than just plucking and hoping for the best! I found these at Walgreens and forget the price but they were fairly inexpensive!
Lashes:
IT Cosmetics Superhero Mascara: I use to just go into Walgreens and get whatever was “buy one get one half off”. However, I gotta say I hate clumpy mascara and I especially hated the way it looked on my lashes! My sister introduced me to the IT Cosmetics mascara and I have been hooked every since. I’ve been asked if I have falsies on when I use this mascara which makes my whole day! Ohhh man… I’m such a girl! But seriously who doesn’t love long lushes lashes?
Moisturizer:
Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer: This is a moisturizer that I put on every single night and morning. I use to never have dry skin, in fact, I use to have very oily skin. I feel like my skin has changed a lot since postpartum, mostly because it seems to always be dry? Maybe this is in my head but I really don’t think so! My first time using this moisturizer is when my sister got it for me before I headed to Cali to film The 20’s show! I was going to be working out for majority of the time there and needed something that was oily skin friendly and provided SPF protection. This has been my absolute favorite lotion every since and I get it at Walgreens!
Coverup:
Clinique’s stay-matte: This little guy I have been a fan of since college. I have strayed a few times and tried other brands but have always came back to this! I love it because it gives just enough coverage but it is not super thick and over the top. When I wear it (which I would say I do about once a week) I can not feel it on my face, which is a total plus! It’s fairly light coverage! I actually purchased this at Bergners but they are going out of business here which makes me SO SAD. When I go to restock I may just end up ordering it online!
Contour:
My Sculpted Face (IT Cosmetics): Contouring truly is an art, isn’t it? There are some hilarious Youtube videos of contouring going completely wrong hahaha – Look it up, I dare ya! When I wear my Clinique coverup, I like to contour my cheeks and nose a little bit! I would say I also use this about once a week- typically on a date night or just for fun! I have had this same contour palette for almost three years- wowza! That makes me feel old. I have also strayed and tried liquid contouring and was just not a fan. Honestly, I was probably was not doing it right- ha! Who knows! I like this powdered contour palette because for me it was easy to figure out (I mean it has a picture on the back showing you for goodness sake). It still looks natural and oh my gosh it has lasted me such a long time! I like the way contouring looks as long as it is not over the top and (in my opinion) this palette helps make for a more natural contour look!
I did not even realize that I am a huge fan of IT Cosmetics until after writing this blog! I also did not realize that most of my favorite products are ones that my sister introduced me to, thanks Jennah (: Hopefully this helps you achieve the “not so tired” look that has been my goal for nine months now! But hey I always tell myself I’m tired for a great reason. I have two little miracles and their names are Oliver and Olivia! This kind of post is outside my comfort zone but was definitely fun for a change. I will be doing a new – more in depth – beauty regimen post in the next few weeks. I am collaborating with few amazing companies that I will reveal at a later time. I am currently using their products now and will share my results SOON!
Now from one hot mess express to another, what are your favorite makeup/beauty products? Share in the comment selection below because I wanna know!
Happy Monday & Stay Lively!
Foundation, I lovvvve Cargo! It comes in what looks like a little baby food squeeze pouch, which I realized when I caught my almost two year old with it! It’s good coverage, never greasy. Only downfall is no SPF. (Also, shade 40 doesn’t look so great on the kids’ WHITE rug….😱. Luckily, since I caught in the act, 2.5 hours in the washing machine immediately saved the rug!!! )The BEST mascara I’ve been using lately, from the Honest company! Has the little primer side, then a great brush for the mascara side. It’s awesome! Wish they also had a waterproof… Read more »
Omg you just made my whole day with all these suggestions!!! Wait thats so hilarious about the foundation…my babies would do the exact same thing we LIVE for baby sqeeze pouches!!! hahaha too funny!
