Hi my friends! This weekend was a busy yet very fun one! Let’s get right to it!

Saturday:

It’s funny because Matthew and I were talking late Friday night about laying low and relaxing more on our Saturday, and we did the complete opposite of that! Here’s why though! We recently decided that our first home (the one we are currently living in) will be our first rental property. This is something we have always wanted to do together- take a house, really fix it up, and turn it into a rental as a side income. Our house is older and has been added on to several times. A lot of things have not been updated in quite sometime but it has so much potential. Frankly, when we do move I will really miss the location. The potential of our home has us so exicted that we are immersing ourselves into some house projects! I thought it would be fun to start sharing some before and after photos of the little projects we get done on the weekends! Did we relax Saturday? Heckkk no- but we had a blast (: We started off the day with our normal routine of waking up, eating, babes played and then we went on our run. As Oliver, Olivia and I headed out the door to get our exercise on, Matthew headed to Menards to get supplies we needed for Saturdays activies! Naptime rolled around and that’s when we got to work. I started on the outside of our house. There is this old white railing that desperately needed a paint job. Matthew washed it off for me and then I got to work painting. While I worked on the outside, Matthew was working on our Master bedrooms bathroom. I really wish I had a photo of what it looked like before it was all ripped up! The walls were covered in flowered pink wall paper (at least 20 years old) and the flooring was pepto bismol pink tile. – eeeeek! It needed a facelift, to say the least. Here is the progress on what Matthew has done to it so far!

We worked the entire time during the babies three hour nap period! Matthew wanted to finish one end of the railing when the babies woke up so we made a little set up outside for them to watch.

I threw dinner together really fast in the crockpot – Here is what I made!!  Highly recomend (:

Afterward 30 minutes of being outside we all settled into the living room to feed the babies & play and relax. Once they were down for the count around 7:15 p.m. we headed back outside to continue to work on the railing- Gotta take advantage of the last bit of sunlight am I right? Thank goodness it’s summer time!

By the way…

On Saturday I decided to change my Instagram name! I changed it from @Livelygirlfitness to @Livelygirlrachel. This was not something I had been thinking about for awhile. It was a complete spur of the moment (which sums up my personality haha) feeling I had and decided to go for it! I honestly wasn’t even going to bring it up that it was changed because frankly I did not think anyone would pay much thought to it (wrong!) For the past 6 years, fitness has been such a BIG part of my life. I have to be honest though, I don’t want to be put in that box anymore. There is so much more to me, this account, and blog. There is a lot I like to share that is not fitness related and so in a sense, I have outgrown the name. While it was and will continue to be an essential part of my life, it is not my whole life. My very active lifestyle is not fueled by wanting to look ripped and perfect. The goal is to be the healthiest momma I can be, because my babies deserve that! Ultimately, my goal in life is to live as lively as possible and I’m opening up my life to you to show just how exactly I plan on doing that. Don’t worry- I will be continuing to share a lot off fitness! Just not 100% of the time (:

Definition of Lively:

1.) Full or suggestive of life or vital energy ; active, vigorous or brisk.

2.) Animated, spirited, vivacious

3.) Eventful, exciting.

So welcome my friend, thank you for taking the time to be a part of my journey. I genuinely hope by me sharing little bits and pieces of my life, it will inspire YOU to live the active, exciting and most importantly lively life that you deserve. Let’s do this damn thing together, because I am so ready to live every single second fully comitted, happy, and making it all count.

Ramble over, shall we continue with this weekend recap? Yes please!

Sunday:

We made it just in time for morning Mass (maybe 10 minutes late – whoops!) Hey we made it all the same! It’s funny because we still have this feeling of accomplishment when we get the babies out and doing something besides just sitting at home. After mass, we headed over to my parents to visit. We also had some extended family in town so it was nice to see everyone! Nap time rolled around and back into productive mode we went! While Matthew prepped for his work week ahead I threw my workout shoes on to run. Can I be honest? I have been getting bouts of anxiety lately which I, at first, thought were at random times of the day. I started to track the exact time I start to feel anxious and wouldn’t you know it. It’s right around 12:30 every single time. EVERY TIME! I had to sit back and wonder why and I came to the conclusion that 1.) I had the time to actually take a moment to think, getting wrapped up in my own thoughts, because I am not tending to my babies (who are asleep). It’s so easy to let our simple thoughts turn into an anxious mess isn’t it? I noticed when I start wracking off the things I need to get done during their nap- I get more anxious- talk about a vicious cycle! So I kicked my anxiety right in the butt and went on a four mile run. I came home and was a brand new Rachel. Nerves were in check as I sat on our porch and took 15 minutes to relax.

Once the babies were up we made our way to the Zoo! This has been on our checklist of a fun family acitivity to do so we were excited! When we arrived, they weren’t that interested- go figure! When we would walk up to an exhibit, Oliver would laugh and smile, not at the animals, but at all the other kids around him! He was people watching and loving every second of it. Olivia really liked the llama’s but all I could think about was “what if they spit all over us” – Haha send helpppp! By the time we saw the giraffes, they were more into it.

It was a fun little outing! Will they remember it? No, but Matthew and I will!

We had a family dinner which consisted of ribs, corn, broccoli and cous cous. I have to be honest though, I drank a summer shandy and ate two dougnuts instead. Sometimes- I do give into cravings and tonight was one of those nights! No regrets over here! Back on track I gooooo, starting tomorrow! Bring on Monday!

I hope everyone had a great weekend (:

Stay Lively!
