Weekend Recap! #11
Hi friends! It has been an interesting few days so let me catch you up! Friday: This was a terrifying day for me (if you follow me on Instagram you know why). I was in the kitchen doing dishes and had both babies in their high chairs, snacking, faced towards me. I looked at Ollie and Liv, turned to put a coffee mug away, look back at them and the sight I saw will scar me for awhile. Olivia's lips were turning purple as well as under her eyes. They were puffy, purplish-pink and she was not making a sound. She was choking. I reacted really fast and managed to clear her airway, but it is something that really affected me. I never felt such sheer panic in my life. On a positive note, I am fortunate that I took infant cpr and refreshed my memory by watching YouTube videos demonstarting how to do this- if I had not, the outcome could have been very different. I'm currently working on a blog post regarding this day in more detail because it was a HUGE wakeup call to me and something I want to spread awareness on. I will be doing a blog on how I made sure I was prepared for a situation like this, safer snack ideas, how to avoid this situation (at all costs) and so on! Please stay tuned for that (: I'll have it up later this week! In another- more positive - breath, let's chat about Saturday, shall we? Saturday: My alarm clock went off at 5:55 a.m. I hopped out of bed *half asleep, sipped on some coffee and threw on my running clothes that I had laid out the night before. My friend Shannon and I were planning on running around 6:30 a.m. The weather was gorgeous and it felt like the first day of summer where it did not feel extruciatingly humid! We ran a solid four miles and then hurried home to our families to get the day going! When I arrived back everyone was still asleep. There is something that feels really good about waking up before your babies to squeeze a workout in. It made me feel accomplished very early on and set a positive tone for the rest of Saturday!
